We will give you the best application. However, proper preparation of your skin is crucial for the development and outcome of your tan. Be sure to follow the steps below:
Before care
Exfoliate for a few days leading up to your appointment. We recommend that you use an exfoliating glove rather than a washcloth or loofah. Be sure to cover all areas of your body.
Refrain from using scrubs that contain oils, unless it is used more than two days before your appointment. Oils can leave a film on the skin that can create a barrier and potentially block the spray tan absorption.
Make sure you have no existing self-tanner or remnants from an old spray tan on your skin. Having anything on your skin will prevent your new tan from soaking in and thus creating patchy streaks.
Waxing and/or shaving should be done 24 hours before your appointment. This is another common cause for streaky results, so please do this in advance.
Get your manicure and pedicure before your tanning session! If you have a special occasion coming up that you plan on getting your nails done for, make sure to do this a couple days before your tan. Going once you have already been sprayed will result in a potential loss of your new glow.
DO NOT shower right before your appointment. Showering opens your pores and causes your skin to be very hydrated. This will adversely affect your tan because your skin may not absorb all of the solution.
No oils, perfumes, deodorants, or lotions the day of your appointment. Any of these products on your skin will negatively affect the outcome of your new tan and potentially cause the color to have a green tint.
After Care
Wait the recommended timebefore rinsing after your spray tan.
DO NOT wash hands until your first rinse - use baby wipes for palms of hands only.
Wear loose fitting dark clothing. Flip flops or open toe shoes for your feet. No jeans or tight elastic.
Avoid getting any part of your body wet until you rinse.
Make sure all skin is covered - if you must go out in the rain, please make sure all parts of your skin are unexposed in order to avoid washing off your tan too early.
DO NOT let pets lick your skin until after your initial rinse.
Wait at least 24 hours to shave as this can cause fading of your new tan. (To keep a longer lasting color, use conditioner instead of shaving cream)
Avoid spa treatments, pedicures, manicures, and waxing for a few days after your spray.
Pat dry your skin with a towel after getting out of the shower.
Moisturize your skin at least 2x/day after your initial shower.
